About

My name is Tejal. I’m a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and practitioner of Oriental medicine, which includes traditional Chinese and Japanese acupuncture. I have been practicing acupuncture and traditional Oriental medicine for the past 24 years. I also have a passion for yoga which led me to become a yoga instructor. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Master’s degree in Oriental medicine. I have practiced in several states in the US (California, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina) and in England.
Since I grew up in a family of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists, I had always been drawn to medicine, but found the complementary side more appealing due to its holistic approach. I really believe in the importance of preventative medicine, in the mind-body connection and how strongly they can affect each other. Oriental medicine’s view of the body and health encompasses many of these principles. Besides Oriental medicine, I also have a keen interest in Ayurveda and yoga, stemming from my Asian heritage, and in European herbs and remedies from my many years practicing in England.
I am a lifelong student of Japanese Meridian therapy and Oriental medicine since I believe there is always room for improvement and always more to learn. My gentle technique and touch are greatly influenced by my master teachers from Japan: Dr Masakazu Ikeda Sensei, Dr Edward Obaidey Sensei, Dr Noriko Nagato Sensei and Dr Katsuyuki Oue Sensei. Over the years, they have inspired and guided me in my practice of Japanese acupuncture and Oriental medicine. During the course of my studies, I have also travelled to Japan to attend a seminar and gain hands-on experience in the clinics of my teachers. My experience of the culture, the country and the medicine as it is practiced in Japan is unforgettable.
My journey to help women with fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and pelvic issues started several years ago, when a midwife became my patient because she was struggling to conceive. While I supported her through two children and supported many other women since then, I have gained invaluable experience.
My goal is to treat the whole person by addressing their underlying issues as well as their immediate issues. I encourage an integrative approach to health and wellness in order get better and stay better.
