Lifestyle & Wellness

As part of any holistic treatment plan, diet, nutrition, movement, and stress-reducing lifestyle routines are essential to achieving balance and health.

Dietary Guidance

The food we eat is essential to maintaining good health, as 70% of our postnatal Qi (life force) comes from Gu Qi (Food Qi). By choosing foods that support the season, your individual constitution and the balancing properties needed for your current state of health, you can utilize your food as medicine. Tejal will advise you on specific foods you can incorporate into your diet to maximize the effects of the treatments. Additionally she may prescribe a take home herbal remedy or supplements to address your specific concern.

Movement

Yoga is a practical philosophy that is a powerful antidote to the stresses of modern day life. The aim is unification of body, mind and spirit for health and fulfillment.
The asanas (physical stretches and postures) help develop a fit and supple body. They help tone muscles, stimulate circulation and improve bodily systems. The benefits of yoga are not only physical- it is calming to the mind, increases concentration and increases the ability to cope with stress. Yoga is not only stretches and exercises but also includes breath control and relaxation techniques. Through the combination of asanas, breath work and relaxation techniques, yoga harmonizes the mind and body, the mental and the physical . It is complementary to acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
Yoga is suitable for all ages and can be adapted to all conditions such as asthma or high blood pressure. It can benefit anyone in any stage of their life without causing harm (if done correctly) and can be practiced with ease from home, or in nature.

Breathwork & Posture

As part of your home care program, you’ll receive helpful and simple stretches and breathing techniques to incorporate into your daily wellness routine. Tejal keeps each program manageable and easy to accomplish, and tailored to your specific problem area that needs attention. Breath work includes diaphragmatic breathing techniques (as opposed to chest breathing) and Pranayama (breath work focusing on mind-body balance to increase circulation and regulate your energy for calm and focus).
